Excited state spectroscopy and scattering phase shifts from Lattice QCD
There has been considerable progress recently in Lattice QCD calculations of finite volume hadron spectra. Apart from providing exploratory insights into the properties of excited hadrons, these finite volume spectra can be used to rigorously calculate elastic scattering phase shifts. I will review recent progress in flavor non-singlet meson sectors using $N_f = 2+1$ anisotropic clover fermions at a single lattice spacing with pion masses down to $m_{\pi} \approx 250\mathrm{MeV}$. Also, future prospects will be discussed.
