Title:
Rare B decays
Abstract:
The absence of FCNC in the Standard Model Lagrangian implies that rare B decays are highly suppressed in the Standard Model. This suppression raises the possibility that these decays can be used to probe effects due to BSM physics, which could be observed as changes in decay rates and angular distributions. In this talk I will discuss the role that lattice QCD has in the study of rare B decays, the problem due to the mass of the b quark, the Relativistic Heavy Quark action, its tuning and how the form factors that parametrize matrix elements for semileptonic decays can be calculated.
