A large branching ratio of a charged Higgs boson into a charm quark and bottom quark would be a distinctive signature of an extension of the standard model with three Higgs doublets (3HDM). The parameter space where such large branching ratios are possible in 3HDMs is studied, and the searches for this decay channel at the LHC are discussed.
