Holographic interfaces and their properties
The AdS/CFT correspondence is a powerful modelling tool for strongly coupled condensed matter systems. A number of interesting phenomena in condensed matter physics involve the existence of an interface between different kind of materials. In this talk, we analyse the possibility of modelling a surface with gapless excitations between two insulating materials using the AdS/CFT correspondence. To do so, we use D-branes with a changing mass profile in the probe approximation at finite temperature and finite charge density. We will present some results of the study of these systems.
