Particle Physics 2001
Particle Physics 2001 is the annual conference of the Institute of Physics High Energy
Particle Physics Group. It will take place at the University of Southampton from
3rd-5th April, 2001, and contain a combination of
plenary talks in topical areas with parallel sessions and poster
sessions where young physicists may present their work.
The conference will begin with a PPARC Particle Physics Town Meeting
in the afternoon of the 3rd April. A public lecture by Prof Gordy
Kane from the University of Michigan will take place in conjunction
with the conference on the evening of the 4th April. The IoP HEPP
group will hold its AGM over lunch on the 4th April.
General Conference Information
The conference will take place on the Avenue Campus, University of Southampton. The
conference reception will be open from midday on Tuesday 3 April. The
PPARC town meeting begins at 1330 with tea and coffee served from
1300. There will be a food and drink reception together with the
poster session on Tuesday evening at 1830-2100. Accommodation will be
in the Highfield Hall nearby. See the map under travel information. The reception at Highfield
Hall is usually open between 0800-2300, but there is 24 hour
security. Rooms are available from noon, unless prior arrangements
have been made. Should you arrive before noon, you may leave luggage
in Hall. You should return to register later. If you are delayed en
route or expect to arrive outside these hours, please advise Highfield
Hall on 023 8059 8004.
