A successful 2-day student-led conference, "Advances in High Energy Physics and Cosmology" took place at the University of Southampton from 21 to 23 March 2018, sponsored by SEPnet (South East Physics Network) for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in the UK.
The workshop was proposed and chiefly organised by Simon King from the SHEP (Southampton High Energy Physics) group and Sonali Mohapatra and Jack Setford, from the University of Sussex, with help from GRADnet staffmember Cristobel Soares-Smith and advice from Professor Stefano Moretti.
Congratulations to James Richings, Sam Rowley and Azaria Coupe for securing SEPnet funding to organise the Student-Led Residential Physics GRADnet Workshop `The Future of Particle Physics in the Post-Higgs Landscape' which will take place on 3-5 April 2019 at the University of Southampton.
Miss Wendy Carolina Gonzalez Olivares and Miss Daniela Hernandez Otero, both from the Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla (BUAP) (Puebla, Mexico), will be visiting the NExT Institute over a period of three months starting from September 2018. They are funded by CONACYT (Mexico) and will be based in Southampton to work on beyond the Standard Model Higgs physics.
